Returns Policy

Under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations you have the right to cancel your order for any non bespoke item purchased from Facecandie for a full refund.Order cancellations must be made in writing, quoting your order number, within 14 days of the day after you receive the goods.

Return or exchange an item

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item or items to us in their original condition within 14 days of receipt (excluding custom made items which are non returnable unless faulty). We will issue a refund on receipt, or exchange the item for a different model/ colour if preferred.

To assist us and ensure a speedy refund or exchange - please complete the form provided here and enclose with your returned item.

Please note:

  • Upon receipt of your order, please check the goods are in perfect condition and notify us straight away if there is a problem.
  • The item is your responsibility until it reaches us. For your own protection, we recommend that you send the parcel using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods.
  • If returning from OUTSIDE the EU please DO NOT USE COURIER SERVICES as there will be excessive clearance fees, we will either refuse delivery or charge the fees back to you. You must ensure the value on the parcel is listed as “ZERO” and you CLEARLY write "RETURNED GOODS" on the customs form and parcel itself as we will not accept parcels that incur duty charges.
  • If you receive your item in a faulty condition you must notify us in writing within 7 days of receipt of the product
  • Earrings or other items of pierced jewellery cannot be returned unless they are found to have manufacturing faults.
  • Shade Station do not pay returns postage unless an item is the wrong item or faulty
  • Shade Station cannot be held responsible if any issues occur from taking your watch elsewhere to have links removed. Once watch straps links have been removed the item is non returnable to Shade Station.

Faulty Item

If the item you received is faulty, please contact Returns on 0344 848 7878 quoting your order number, your name and address, details of the product and the reason for return, and whether you require a refund or a replacement. We will then advise on how to proceed with the return. If you receive your item in a faulty condition you must notify us in writing within 7 days of receipt of the product.

I Received the wrong item

If the item you received is not what you originally ordered, please contact Returns on 0344 848 7878 quoting your order number, your name and address, details of the product and the reason for return, and whether you require a refund or a replacement. We will then advise on how to proceed with the return.

This returns policy does not effect your statutory rights.

Placing an order

By placing an order with us you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions and your use of our web site are governed by English law and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English court. This does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights.

This website and our Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law. Whilst we are happy to consider requests for products and enquiries from outside the United Kingdom, we give no warranty, express or implied, that the use of this website or the placing of any order through this website from outside the UK complies with any applicable non-UK laws or regulations. Accordingly, any products or promotions not permitted under your local law are not offered to you.

A Contract between the customer and Shade Limited for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed and despatched. This does not affect the customer's statutory rights.

Prices and availability of goods is subject to change without notice. A delivery charge will be added to your order value where appropriate, please see delivery times and charges.

Your right to cancel

You may normally cancel your order (once accepted by us) for any reason up to the point of despatch. If you do cancel the contract within this time any payments made by you will be refunded in full within 30 days.

As prescription lenses are a bespoke item, once ordered this element of the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Payment and taxes

We accept online payment in a secure environment by credit card or Facecandie Gift Vouchers. We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Switch, Visa Electron. All transactions are shown in £ sterling.

We do not store personal or financial information in the process of payment, not do we share this information with 3rd parties.

All prices quoted on this website are accurate at the time of publication and are quoted in pounds sterling (£) and where appropriate are inclusive of UK sales tax (VAT) at the current rate. If your order is being sent to a member state of the EC then the selling price will include VAT at the current rate. The current rate of VAT is 20.0%. Any customs or import duties levied once the package reaches your destination country will be your responsibility as we have no control over these charges and cannot predict them.

Our Guarantee To You

If your credit/debit card is used fraudulently as a direct result of being used to buy from our site, then we will assume liability for the first £50 of your loss. Your credit card company is obligated to take responsibility for the rest. We will do our best to work with your credit card company to minimise the hassle for you.

We endeavour to display through this website all items in our current range. We aim to hold stock of all styles and sizes whilst a product is active. However, occasionally an item will be out of stock.

All dates quoted for delivery are estimated delivery dates only and may be subject to change and we can accept no liability for any loss or damage (whether direct or indirect) for delivery at any time other than the estimated date for delivery. All orders received before 4pm will, subject to availability, be despatched on the following day for a 7 working day delivery. Those orders received after 4pm will be despatched on the day after the next day.

UK Delivery

Stock permitting, all orders are usually despatched within 24 hours, to arrive with UK customers within three working days. In the event that an item is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of the delay and despatch it as soon as it arrives.

If an item is returned to us uncollected and has to be reshipped, the customer will have to be charged for postage again.

If a parcel looks like it has been damaged/opened then the customer must sign that the package was not received in perfect condition.

Conformity of goods

A description of the goods is set out on our website . Whilst we will attempt to ensure that there are no changes to the goods to be supplied, it is possible that there may be some minor variations to the description and/or specification of the goods which arise by virtue of changes made by the manufacturers of the parts supplied which form part of the goods. If an order is placed and during the customisation process the original frame colour is no longer available from our suppliers, we shall glaze the lenses into a frame colour that is similar to the original.

Prescriptions

When ordering, you must provide us with details of the relevant prescription that is to be applied to the goods. All prescriptions provided to us must have been given to you by a Registered Medical Practitioner or Registered Ophthalmic Optician following an eye examination by them within the last 2 years.

We will rely upon the prescription provided by you and the goods provided will contain lenses matching the prescription that you submitted.

As a bespoke item, once ordered, prescription lens orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.

If you are unsure of the relevant prescription to be applied to the goods, please consult a Registered Medical Practitioner or Registered Ophthalmic Optician before placing an order.

Unless you state otherwise, we use an appropriate average Pupillary Distance 'PD' to complete your order. This PD measurement has been provided by fully qualified Dispensing Opticians. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, and unless you state otherwise, you will be agreeing to let us use an average PD of 63mm . Shade Ltd recommend that you consult your Optician to obtain your PD before ordering, and provide that measurement to us when ordering.

The lenses we use in prescriptions are not the brand lenses but our own ophthalmic lenses and therefore will not have the brand logo on.

You must be over the age of 18 to order from Shade Ltd and you must not be registered blind, or partially sighted, or ordering on behalf of someone under 18 years of age.

We do not supply spectacles with single vision lenses of a spherical power greater than +9.50 and -9.50 (dioptres) and a cylindrical power greater than +4.00 and -4.00 (dioptres) - please do not request us to do this.

In exceptional circumstances certain prescription and frame combinations may incur an extra charge to be able to be glazed. We will notify you of this before we glaze your frames.

Disclaimer and limitations of liability

Shade Ltd does not seek to exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury arising from its negligence or that of its members agents directors or employees or for any fraudulent misrepresentation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law and save as provided above, neither Shade Ltd nor any associated company shall be liable to you by reason of any representation, or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty at common law, or under the express terms of the contract, or in negligence (whether on the part of Shade Ltd or any of its members, agents, directors, employees or otherwise) for any indirect special or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to loss of profit or loss of saving), costs, expenses or other claims for compensation whatsoever which arise out of or in connection with the use of this website, the supply of the products or their use or resale by you.

"The limitations of liability in these conditions shall apply equally for the benefit of Shade Limited and any other associated company of Shade Ltd as if references to Shade Ltd included references to each such associated company."

While Shade Ltd uses reasonable endeavours to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date, it does not give any warranty as to its accuracy or completeness and Shade Limited will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results arising from the use of such information.

While Shade Limited takes all reasonable steps to ensure a fast and reliable service, it does not guarantee that your use of this website will be interruption or error free and will not be responsible for any disruption, loss of or corruption of any material in transit, or loss of or corruption of material or data when downloaded onto any computer system.

No person who is not a party to these terms and conditions shall have any right to enforce any term under the Contracts ( Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. Nothing in these conditions is intended nor shall affect any of your statutory rights that may not be legally excluded.
